A DOLL'S HOUSE BY IBSEN, AND THINGS FALL APART BY CHINUA ACHEBE

The two works that I will be comparing/contrasting are A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen, and
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. I chose these two books because they both talk a lot
about the importance in the role of women in their culture. The women in both books had a
job they had to do and that job was to take care of their husbands and children in their
home. In Things Fall Apart, their was quite a difference because the husband was allowed
to have more than one wife. In A Doll's House, their was only one wife, and she had the
duties of watching the children but at the same time she had a maid to help her out.
These two books have more in common as far as the responsibility of the housewife(s) than
they do the role of the men.
The characters in both books are alike in more ways than meets the eye.
