DEATH THROUGH A DREAMDeath Through a Dream Struggling for life, Breath eluded his body, He fought with a vengeance, Ever harder, To no avail. Time became lethargic, As did the life Pumping through his veins. Desiring to stand, His body wouldn't allow. Only spirit would prevail. Engulfed by an unnatural high, Recalling memories, Long lost from birth until now, Realizing before him a man, In dark shadows did spy. He collapsed on his knees, Clenched his hands and prayed. Rushing back, All memories played in reverse, Morning came, As always in sweet accord. He awoke, To the birds singing, And the sunlight creeping. His daily life unfolded. He realized And released, His fears to a dream. |
